WHO, WHAT AND WHY
About
I am a front-end engineer. As such, my mission in life is to build Web pages whose component layers are cleanly separated from one another, those three layers being: presentation (CSS), behavior (JavaScript) and structure (HTML). In addition to my client-side expertise, I'm no stranger to the server-side of things (e.g., PHP and Apache, .NET and IIS). And to make things completely confusing, I'm also an accomplished graphic designer, vector illustrator and copywriter.
About this site
This website was hand-coded in Strict XHTML with CSS used for positioning and presentation. PHP is used to render menu items according to context and MySQL is used to store and display the illustration galleries.
About the illustrations
My showcase presents vector illustrations commissioned by PressTime Magazine (the trade publication of the Newspaper Assocation of America). You can also peek into my archives to see less fresh (but still impressive) graphic work.
